Patricia Twohearts, Clerk of Court for Juvenile/Family Court
My name is Patricia  Twohearts, I have been employed with the Spirit Lake Tribal Court for 7 years, I am employed as the Clerk of Court for the juvenile/family Division.

Court Hearings are held on Tuesdays they are, Custodies, Motion to Review/Tribal Social Services, Motion to Close/Tribal Social Services, Initial Appearance Hearings and Informal Hearings for Juveniles. 

My duties are but limited to, sending out Notices to Appear for Custodies, Social Service Hearings, Juvenile Hearings, Filing, Juvenile background checks, Sign off on Affidavits and Statements and petitions, signed off on receipts on fines brought in to be paid, emergency paperwork, work closely with the Spirit Lake Tribal Social Services, Schools, Law Enforcement, (state and tribal), Mental Health Office, various  youth treatment facilities, attendant care, juvenile services of Ramsey County. 

The court works closely with Frank Myrick, ICWA Office, regarding cases that are in the process of being held in another jurisdiction and in which , the family is requesting a transfer of jurisdiction. the cases can be transferred if the individual is a member of the Spirt Lake Tribe. 

All Emergency petitions are REVIEWED BY THE JUDGE and he determines whether or not the petition will be granted as an emergency, or be scheduled on the docket when the docket permits. A person may wait for the judges decision or call back at a later time to find out if the petition is granted as an emergency.
